A Person of Worth I. God Himself set the value of a man or woman. Matthew 13:44-46 “The Kingdom of Heaven is like a treasure a man discovered in a field. In his excitement, he sold everything he owned to get enough money to buy the field—and get the treasure, too! 45“Again, the Kingdom of Heaven is like a pearl merchant on the lookout for choice pearls. 46He discovered a real bargain—a pearl of great value—and sold everything he owned to purchase it!” A. Value was established by the decision to sent Jesus Christ to the cross. B. Jesus agreed with the Father’s set value of a fallen people. C. The cross was the greatest payment ever made in history for a soul. II. The Father sets such high value upon His creation that He constantly watches over them. Matthew 10:29-31 “Are not two sparrows sold for a farthing? and one of them shall not fall on the ground without your Father. 30But the very hairs of your head are all numbered. 31Fear ye not therefore, ye are of more value than many sparrows.” A. God knows when you’re in pain. B. He dispatches angels and His saints to minister to you during these times. C. God’s accounting system includes everything that pertains to you. III. Our Value is so high all our needs are covered. Matthew 6:25-33 “Therefore I say to you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink; nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food and the body more than clothing? 26Look at the birds of the air, for they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they? 27Which of you by worrying can add one cubit to his stature? 28“So why do you worry about clothing? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin; 29and yet I say to you that even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. 30Now if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today is, and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, will He not much more clothe you, O you of little faith? 31“Therefore do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ 32For after all these things the Gentiles seek. For your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. 33But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.” A. The Kingdom work that we do is of such value that the Father doesn’t want us to be concerned or worried about our needs. B. Kingdom work is of higher value than just working for a weekly pay check. C. The Father places value on a worry-free life. D. All of Solomon’s wealth was nothing compared to the value of the provision that the Father makes for our well-being. E. The fact that the Father provides for our needs demonstrates the value He places on us. F. Our only responsibility is to make the kingdom of God our highest and greatest priority.
