Break Forth

Scripture:
Isaiah 52:9-10 “Break forth into joy, sing together, you waste places of Jerusalem! For the LORD has comforted His people, He has redeemed Jerusalem. 10 The LORD has made bare His holy arm in the eyes of all the nations; and all the ends of the earth shall see the salvation of our God.”

Introduction:
Too many people are bound up with fears, doubt, and unbelief. We’re held captive by physical distress, emotional distress and mental distress. When Jesus came he declared that we could live a life was more than abundant. I believe that means a life filled with joy, faith, hope and peace. It’s time for us to position ourselves to live this abundant life that Jesus promised. God’s word shows us a process that brings us into this abundance. That, my friends, is what I call a breakthrough. God wants us to break forth into this life of abundance which will be a testimony of His goodness to all those we come in contact with.
The words break forth come from the Hebrew patsach (paw-tsakh) which means to cause to break or burst forth, break forth with, or to break out. Wow, it’s time to break forth.

I. The first step in getting ready to break out is to position yourself through faith.
Isaiah 54:1-5 “Sing, O barren, You who have not borne! Break forth into singing, and cry aloud, you who have not labored with child!  For more are the children of the desolate than the children of the married woman,” says the LORD. 2“Enlarge the place of your tent, and let them stretch out the curtains of your dwellings; Do not spare; Lengthen your cords, and strengthen your stakes. 3For you shall expand to the right and to the left, and your descendants will inherit the nations, And make the desolate cities inhabited. 4“Do not fear, for you will not be ashamed; Neither be disgraced, for you will not be put to shame; For you will forget the shame of your youth, And will not remember the reproach of your widowhood anymore. 5For your Maker is your husband, The LORD of hosts is His name; and your Redeemer is the Holy One of Israel; He is called the God of the whole earth.”
 A. God is aware that we have times when we feel barren and forsaken.
 B. He calls on us to praise Him while we’re still struggling. That’s faith.
  Give thanks in all things
Hebrews 11:1 “Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.”
 C. Make room in your heart and life as though the answer were already here.
D. Don’t be embarrassed to make provision because if God says something He will bring it to pass.
E. The Lord Himself will help you to bring forth, or shall we say break forth.

II. As God comforts us, it encourages us to begin the process of breaking forth into joy.
Isaiah 52:9 “Break forth into joy, sing together, you waste places of Jerusalem! For the LORD has comforted His people, He has redeemed Jerusalem.”
 A. He comforts us with His presence.
Hebrews 13:5-6 “For He Himself has said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.”  6So we may boldly say: “The LORD is my helper; I will not fear. What can man do to me?”
 B. He comforts us with the light of His countenance.
Numbers 6:22-26 “And the LORD spoke to Moses, saying: 23“Speak to Aaron and his sons, saying, ‘This is the way you shall bless the children of Israel. Say to them: 24“The LORD bless you and keep you; 25The LORD make His face shine upon you, And be gracious to you; 26The LORD lift up His countenance upon you, And give you peace.”’
C. We comforted as we discover His love for us.
John 15:13 “Greater love has no one than this, than to lay down one’s life for his friends.”
D. We’re comforted as we remember the salvation we have through Christ Jesus.
I Thessalonians 5:9-11 “For God did not appoint us to wrath, but to obtain salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ, 10who died for us, that whether we wake or sleep, we should live together with Him. 11Therefore comfort each other and edify one another, just as you also are doing.”
E. He brings comfort through His great and precious promises.
II Peter 1:2-4 “Grace and peace be multiplied to you in the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord, 3as His divine power has given to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him who called us by glory and virtue, 4by which have been given to us exceedingly great and precious promises, that through these you may be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.”

III. We are allowed to break forth because of the redemption of our Lord.
A. The word redeem comes from the Hebrew word ga-al (gaw-al) which means to redeem, act as kinsman-redeemer, avenge, revenge, ransom, do the part of a kinsman.
B. We have been redeemed out of the hand of the enemy.
Psalm 91:1-4 “He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. 2 I will say of the LORD, “He is my refuge and my fortress; My God, in Him I will trust.” 3 Surely He shall deliver you from the snare of the fowler and from the perilous pestilence. 4 He shall cover you with His feathers, and under His wings you shall take refuge; His truth shall be your shield and buckler.”

IV.  God makes bare His holy arm for us.
Isaiah 52:10 “The LORD has made bare His holy arm in the eyes of all the nations; and all the ends of the earth shall see the salvation of our God.”
 A. This is the picture a mighty one stepping upon the field of battle and rolling up his sleeve to get rid of any encumbrance to victory.
 B. When God bares His arm holiness is revealed. (He does battle against all unholiness.)
 C. God bares His arm in defense of purity. (He goes to war against all impurities we face.)
 D. God bares His arm against all injustices. (Have you been wrongly accused?)
 E. God bares His arm in pursuit of His promises. (All His words are coming to pass.)
 F. God is ready to smite the enemy in your behalf and bring deliverance for your breakthrough.
Exodus 14:13-14 “And Moses said to the people, “Do not be afraid. Stand still, and see the salvation of the LORD, which He will accomplish for you today. For the Egyptians whom you see today, you shall see again no more forever. 14The LORD will fight for you, and you shall hold your peace.”
  1. God manifested and displayed his power upon the Egyptians at the Red Sea.
 2. There comes a time when God says enough is enough, His arm is bared and we are enabled to break forth into victory.
 G. So break forth into joy, sing oh barren sing, this is the year of breakthrough.
