The Power of Accomplishment

Scripture:
Isaiah 54:7-10 “For a mere moment I have forsaken you, but with great mercies I will gather you. 8 with a little wrath I hid My face from you for a moment; but with everlasting kindness I will have mercy on you,” Says the Lord, your Redeemer. 9“For this is like the waters of Noah to Me; For as I have sworn That the waters of Noah would no longer cover the earth,  So have I sworn That I would not be angry with you, nor rebuke you. 10 For the mountains shall depart And the hills be removed, But My kindness shall not depart from you, Nor shall My covenant of peace be removed,” Says the Lord, who has mercy on you.”
I. Everything that can be shaken will be shaken.
Hebrews 12:26-27 “but now He has promised, saying, “Yet once more I shake not only the earth, but also heaven.” 27Now this, “Yet once more,” indicates the removal of those things that are being shaken, as of things that are made, that the things which cannot be shaken may remain.”
A. God will allow even the eternal things to be shaken in order to show their stability.
B. Everything not of the Kingdom of God will be shaken loose in order that we may more completely embrace the Kingdom.
C. Things that are “made” refers to that which originates with man. What originates with God is created.
1. Things made: material possessions, the world’s economic system, the world’s social order, the world’s governments, even man-made religions.
2. Things created: The heavens and the earth, plant and animal life, man in the likeness and image of God, the Church of the Lord Jesus Christ, The Kingdom of God.
3. If we possess an “original” we have the first of a thing that could be the pattern or prototype of that which is to come. (Also known as a working model.)
D. We have a prototype of that which cannot be shaken. “On earth as it is in heaven.”

II. God’s Word is sure, established and cannot be prevented from coming to pass by any obstacle.
A. Shaking may come, but it cannot and will not negate God’s Word.
Matthew 24:35 “Heaven and earth will pass away, but My words will by no means pass away.”
B. God’s Word has the power of accomplishment.
Isaiah 55:10-11 “For as the rain comes down, and the snow from heaven, And do not return there, But water the earth, And make it bring forth and bud, That it may give seed to the sower     And bread to the eater, 11So shall My word be that goes forth from My mouth; It shall not return to Me void, But it shall accomplish what I please, And it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it.”
C. Once God’s Word goes forth, it is established and nothing can break it.
Psalm 89:34 “My covenant I will not break, nor alter the word that has gone out of My lips.”

III. The Lord’s Word is going forth to gather those who would choose to be a part of that which cannot be shaken.
Matthew 11:28-30 “Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. 29Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.”
A. When a shaking comes, it’s easy to become weary with the struggles of life.
B. When the shaking comes, it’s hard to relax and dwell in the fact of God’s love and provision.
C. The answer is to simply give ourselves to the Lord and to the work of establishing the Kingdom.
D. Many prototypes have been created in heaven and we have the privilege of bringing those to the world.
E. It’s time to make a choice.
Joshua 24:15 “And if it seems evil to you to serve the Lord, choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the River, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you dwell. But as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.”
F. The One who settles you in the time of shaking declares joy and peace over your life.
Isaiah 55:12 “For you shall go out with joy, and be led out with peace; the mountains and the hills shall break forth into singing before you, and all the trees of the field shall clap their hands.”
